Suggested Upgrades?

Hello everyone,

 

Let's make this concise.

 

I'm looking to upgrade my tower from an A10 6790K (with stock cooler) to any 8 physical core CPU and to either add to or replace my current 8Gbs of RAM (2x 4Gb) to 32Gb. I have not stayed up to date on everything (Ryzen, Polaris, the 10X0 series, etc) so what would you all recommend I do? I am guessing the best route would be some sort of upgrade kit/bundle from Newegg with a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM; but I don't know what to aim for. No particular budget in mind (I'll be using USD); but I imagine what I am looking to do is in the $300-$450 range.

 

Suggestions? (If I forgot to give any critical info just ask and I'll give it)

Yeah you are right, cant believe how pathetic them A10's are, fucking shitty, I can tell by not even looking at CPU Benchmarks.

Ryzen if you wanna rock new.

Or Intel if you wanna rock used, go for a $200 Intel i5-4570 area there remanufactured from BestBuy. They are fucking cheap.

But do compare to Ryzen price build

I don't want an i5 because none are 8 core. I'll look at Ryzen; but I really don't know what I'm looking at. Maybe I'll have to go watch LTT videos on all the stuff again.

 

I really just want the cores here, I'm happy with 2Ghz or above (which translates to "Anything besides old Xeons").

The PCPP list you gave would be good except it's two cores and 16Gb of RAM short.

If those are the specs of Ryzen then I'll have to go with 1700.

I would be happy with a FX9590 even, if that's a good option. I bet Ryzen is significantly better though.

I need 8 physical cores, hyper-threaded or not.

I'm trying to run a VM with full system specs all the time, so I need the cores and RAM for two computers in one physical one to do that. 8Gb has not been enough many times over now, so I want 16Gb and 4 full physical cores for each.
