Hello, I've been looking into building a budget gaming pc and I've seen alot of people using an Intel core i5 2400 with a Gtx 1050 ti and I was curious wether or not there would be any bottlenecking?

I'm new to pc buildingand have made a few mistakes already so I want to make sure my main plan is sound before I do anything else.

There is one it just isn't that much of an issue, the 1050ti is not that fast, I think that an i5 2400 is enough to it and "bottlenecks" will only happen if the game really is a lot CPU demanding.

$500 is a bit low tbh. I've got a build on pcpartpicker. But it's over your budget by $150. :/

Yes, there could be bottlenecking. Will there? No idea since we don't know what exactly you're using the system for. There is ALWAYS a bottleneck in your system. In CPU heavy tasks, that would be the CPU. In GPU heavy tasks, the GPU will be the bottleneck. However, is an i5-2400 and GTX 1050Ti a good pairing? Sure, they'll do fine together. You really should try go get an RX 470/570 over the 1050Ti if you can, but they're pretty tough to find these days and are a good bit more expensive than 1050Ti's now.

No, it isn't. $500 is a perfectly fine budget. There's absolutely zero reason to spend a minimum of $650.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($62.49 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($44.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Kingston - HyperX Fury 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($56.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB GAMING Video Card  ($179.99 @ B&H)
Case: Rosewill - SRM-01 MicroATX Mini Tower Case  ($29.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA - B3 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $479.43

Case is trash, but it's just a cheap PoS I included in case the one he "potentially" has doesn't work out. If he can use that other case, that puts him $50 under budget which is enough to add an HDD, or get a better motherboard or GPU. I'd get an RX 470/570 instead of the 3GB GTX 1060 but I can see ANY 470/570s in stock anywhere right now.

Look at the games he wants to play... Most of them are very demanding.

Battlefield 4

G4560 + 3GB 1060 will be fine for BF4 at 1080p.

Ark survival evolved

No idea, but I imagine a mid ranged system with a G4560 + 3GB 1060 will be fine for this game at 1080p.

need for speed

G4560 + 3GB 1060 will absolutely be fine for NFS

Star Citizen

No clue, but again, I imagine a mid ranged system will be fine for this game at 1080p.

Mass effect Andromeda

G4560 + 3GB 1060 will be fine for ME:Andromeda at 1080p.
