Do not get a 500GB HDD! A 1TB one cost $10 less, and had double the storage. The rest seems fine though.

I'd grab an SSD before a HDD. It'll make a bigger difference for the OS. 

 

If you still prefer an HDD, I'd recommend the Black. It's fast for random access and sports a good scheduler on the controller.
