I need a new cooler, the stock one isn't pushing it anymore plus the fan header is broken - it rubs on the plastic and is making an annoying clicking noise. Plus the fan temps aren't great. Can someone recommend a good CPU cooler/AIO (would water cooling be worth it with this price range?).

I really am not fussy about noise - but the clicking is really annoying.

Budget

£70

~ $90.

i5 4690k - I'll get you the case in a sec hold on.

I'd recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo then.

I have a budget of £70, this one will do the same or better performance than a Noctua NH-D15 for example?

The NH-D15 will be slightly better.

Is it worth it though, I don't want to get it if it's only going to give me 1 degree or so more. My temps rocket to about 80 right now under load. I just want to take it down a lot - is it a worth while investment in buying a more the Noctua?

also yes a NH-D15 will be a much nicer cooler and a lot quieter, you can set the fans to a silent mode, get good temps and have basically no noise from them

Thanks you <3

Okay I looked at quite a few benchmarks and the Noctua performed 10-20 degrees cooler. I am going to go with it.

Just found this:

Personally Nh-D15 is the way to go for me as well.

Even though in generall it's by a slight margin, Water cooling is not that much better then air cooling.

Science studio explained it in a scientific manner that paints a good picture of the flaws in AIO cooling.

I would say anything above the hyper t4 is good for cooling good OC's.

check my PC build here: https://valid.x86.fr/jyjc2n

b350 tomhawk arctic h.51 bios, Corsair LPX ram running at 3200mhz

case is a 35$ Zalman Z3 plus white with a cooler master 10$ (15MIR)hyper t4 cooler

20$ EVGA 450w bt (black cables)

150$ 1060 3gb@2.1ghz

Will @mattonfire's case fits? I think U14S is better (for dimension)

You are right!

The case supports 160mm cooler max and the NH-D15 has a height of 165mm.

So @mattonfire the U14S is smaller but almost equivalent to NH-D15S

Edit: so I found out the Specs of the cooler that I thought it's smaller and I think NH-U12S is also great (But not great for 4790K because that CPU is a volcano)
