So @mattonfire the U14S is smaller but almost equivalent to NH-D15S

I think I was wrong again ...

the 165mm height spec is with both fans on in their "regular" position. The heat sink itself has a hight of 160mm and if you were to position the fans lower it should fit within a 160mm case.

It's a hella load cheaper too, about £25. What about the Dark Rock Pro 3. Looked at some tests and seems on par with the NH-D15.

I'm getting confused now, what's the difference between the NH-D15 and the NH-D15S?

It's just having less fans and smaller

Edit: not smaller, sorry for wrong facts

Sorry for confusing you.

the NH-D15S is a version with improved compatibility. For example there are bigger cutouts for RAM modules as well as the heatsink being slightly "bent" to one side to allow graphics cards to fot more easily.

Less fans wouldn't that automatically make it a lot less effective?

The fan is one in the middle

Even with one fan it would still be one of the best Air coolers out there.

i recommend you look at noctuas website to see the difference between the D15 and D15S

Yeah, just looked it up. 1/2 degrees difference but £20 cheaper. That's quite good. That would sure fit in the case with a Z97X motherboard.

You can go with either one of the coolers. The noctua one will be quieter for sure but the hyper 212 Evo will do just fine.

I'm just someone who doesn't like to have compromises.

If I'm going to spend money on something I might as well pay a lot once and have the best of the best.

I would rather be that guy too, what would you recommend? I can pay more if I really want but would rather not if I didn't have to.

Do you mind for noises in your PC? If yes go for Noctua, and we know how good they are (you too I am sure)

What if I really don't mind about noise? All I really care is performance, the headphones I have now are able to completely block out the stock coolers low pitch noise the only thing I hear is a ticking under load. That's because the tick noise is very high pitch :)

Don't mind about noises? Hyper 212 Evo can be fine then, but will you change the fans included?

For me it's NH-D15 then hands down.

Alright, thanks for your guys input, I don't mind about noise but looking at about 5 videos and the NH-D15S performs better especially when overclocked which are my intentions plus if I change my mind then it'll be better option. Much appreciate it - probably the best responses and help on this forum so far
