So I was asked what the best tablet would be for a 7 year old and well I have no idea....

Price: $200-$300

Uses: Playing games, Going online(YouTube),Reading books and watching movies (Movies will need to be on the memory for when he is in the car etc.)

Storage size:16 or 32 gigs will be great (I do not think 8 gigs will do it but if you think it will post why please)

Brands: At this point any brand is just fine :)

Other needs: It will need a good case so any recommendations would be great :)

So let me know what you guys think would be the best tablet and just keep in mind it is for a 7 year old so ease of uses is key :)

If it's for a 7 year old get something affordable. I have personal experience with the ASUS MeMO Pad HD7 and I have to say it's one of the better tablets for the price

The Nexus 7 is currently available for $199 at http://www.amazon.com/Google-Nexus-Tablet-7-Inch-Black/dp/B00DVFLJKQ?tag=androidpolice-20. I have the previous generation version and it is a very good tablet which is easy to use so a 7 year old should find it a breeze.

I usually don't recommend Apple products...but, strictly for ease of use, iPad for sure.

IMO they are easy enough so that even computer / tech illiterate people can even use it.

Heck, my old gramps and my old man knows how to operate one.

For somebody who is more tech savvy and like doing a bit of tinkering, DEFINITELY an Android based tablet. Hands down!

I got myself a ASUS Transformer TF300T + keyboard/battery pack last Christmas; never looked back.

Being able to expand the storage with microSD (in the tablet) and SD (in the keyboard) is what sold me.

Of course, the USB port is friggin' great as well; just opens up so much more possibilities (connect a mouse to the tablet anyone? :P )
