Hello, fellow pc buidlers,

I received my parts for my first PC build today, and those include:

Ryzen 5 1600

beQuiet! Pure Rock cooler

ASUS Prime B350 PLUS (i don't know which BIOS version it has but it's the stock one that's for sure)

16GB DDR4 8GBX2 RAM Crucial Ballistix sport 2400 Mhz

KFA² GTX1060 6GB

EVGA 500BQ

additional old parts not important to this case imo:

3.5" and 2.5" 500GB HDDs (disconnected)

Asus VX248 1080p monitor (tested)

HDMI cable confirmed working

My case hasn't arrived yet so I'm running the system on top of the Mobo box

My problem is that when I short the two power pins on the motherboard to turn the PC on, the fans start spinning and the mobo LEDs (which are already on) stay on, and that's it. So basically it won't post.

Things I've tried are:

Trying both of the RAM sticks on all slots (except for the first one because the cooler is too big)

Reseating the CPU

Trying the GPU on different pcie slots

I've confirmed that all PSU, fan and whatever other cables are properly connected and seated.

Unfortunately i don't have a debug speaker, but i think my case has one included so I'll have to  wait until tomorrow for that.

Meanwhile i hoped someone here would have something i didn't try.

Thanks in advance

@Doublei7

You are connected to the display out on the GPU right? Motherboard outputs won't do anything. Check you haven't missed another CPU power socket as my board has 2, and try 1 stick of RAM only

Have you plugged in the 8 pin CPU power cable in the top left of the motherboard?

Yes

Yes i connected it to my GPU

The CPU power is properly connected

I've already tried both sticks separately and I'm trying it again with one stick (since about 7 minutes)

I'm thinking that it's a BIOS problem, dead CPU or dead GPU.

Do you have an old GPU to test? Easy way to rule that out. Also monitor the leds on your board they should indicate what is not working

Unfortunately no i don't have a GPU.

Also the LEDs on my mobo are only for looks afaik. They don't move or anything they're fully static.

So my case has not arrived yet and i was playing around with the pc, reconnecting stuff and researching things, and i realized a couple things.

First while looking at some videos of computers not posting, especially Ryzen systems, i noticed the PC would keep restarting and the fans would stop and start again, but in my case the fans just keep spinning and spinning without any stops or anything. Does that mean anything? Also i tried my gpu on the second PCIe slot, but when i turn the pc on the fans move a bit but don't start spinning. Is that slot dead or something?

Thanks in advance.
