Gpu upgrade question

Hey all

 

Just wondering what GPU I should go for in the current market.

Looking to play 1440p max settings games, I have a 144hz Freesync monitor from Benq XL 2730Z. (also have a 2nd display which is a LG L246WHX)

My current GPU is R9 390x but it doesn't seem to allow me to play max settings with high frames.

 

Was considering a 1080ti but not sure if it will be too overkill or not or if I should wait for Vega for Freesyncness.

Even 1080ti wont give u 100+ FPS with max settings in all AAA games at 1440p. So with any GPU u will have to find a balance between FPS and graphics settings.
