Windows installation issues

Iv just built my new sytem and wanting to put windows on there from usb, but when i type my activation key in there and try to selcect my SSD for installing, it wont let me saying that the disk is MBR not GPT, pls help!!

Are you using the Windows Media Creation Tool?  If not, download the windows media creation tool to a flashdrive (usb).  Boot the computer with using the flashdrive and just follow the onscreen instructions.  When given the choice, let the tool partition the harddrive and let it also format the drive into the proper format.  Once the partition creation and format is complete, it will then begin the install of the operating system.

 

Once it is done, you will be instructed to reboot the computer, first removing the flash drive.  After it is done, viola, new machine with new OS.

 

Easy Peazy, all done and new.

Yeah using The media tool when i boot off that and type my activation key in it wont let me select a drive to install it saying its an MBR drive needs to convert to GPT

this is about how the SSD is formatted - try removing all existing partitions from the SSD and let windows setup create them again. 

 

there is also a difference between booting the install media in legacy mode vs UEFI mode - GPT is only available in UEFI mode

yeah iv booted from UEFI mode and same issue

And iv formatted it and still saying this

Format has nothing todo with how its partitioned. You just need to delete the partition in that setup screen on the disk you want to install it.

Do NOT format it as the installation will do that by itself
