I'm confused

Please use the edit and quote functions.

But there you go. You have 3840x1024 and then 80% of that so only 3,1mega pixels. Which is still higher than what i expect off of a 750ti tbh :D

Even Anti Aliasing turned on?

tell your friend to run resolution scaling at 100% too.

Hi, i'm new here so i please go easy on me if i have posted this in the wrong place or something :)

First off, I'd just like to say I don't have very much money so please don't laugh at my hardware.

So, my system is a core 2 quad Q6600 with 4.5 GB of ddr2 RAM, a SATA 3 SSD and a gtx 750ti asus OC edition, I am running 3 dell ultrasharp 20" monitors to play games on (I got them in a bulk deal on ebay for £60).

My friend has a core i5 with a gtx 1060, 8gb of ddr3 and plays on a 1080p tv

I can play SWBF (and others, but I mainly play that) on ultra at the native resolution of the monitors running in surround at ~40fps and my friend can play it at high settings at ~50fps   but if he goes to ultra then he drops to <30

My question is, does anyone know why either his is so low or why mine is so high (i'm sure it shouldn't be doing that well as its so old), i'm not that new to PC gaming, its just always fun learning more, thanks

John

he should be much much faster. 1080p and a GTX1060? Easy 100fps.

I ran my GTX970 which is similar in performance on an 3440x1440 display at solid 60fps.

EDIT: For GTX1060 look at GTX980 scores.

well battlefield and battlefront are actually fairly well optimized.

And a GTX750ti isnt too bad.

What is the actual resolution of your monitors though?

What is the actual resolution of your monitors 1680 x 1050 then obviously x3 :)

so at 5040*1050 your GTX750ti gets 40fps in ultra?

And the 1060 get's 50fps in 1080p ultra?

i'm fairly sure this is due to resolution scaling. He probably has it at 200% which is basically rendering 1440p.

while you are at 100% (or lower?) and probably no AA.

I hardly doubt that. Either you have a setting that's lowered and you don't know it or you're surround settings aren't what you think they are. 40 FPS on ultra sounds believable at 1680x1050 for sure, but not at 5040x1050.

well it renders the set resolution at the given percentage.

Say you have 1080p Display with 100% resolution scaling, it will render 1080p

But when you select 200% it will render TWICE the pixels giving you half the performance actually.

If you select lower than 100% it will give you better performance but will decrease visuals. It'll all look kinda blurry.

For my taste 100% is always the best way to go even if you have the computing power.
