Surface pro 4 m3 vs i5

Since the price has been slashed, I am looking for a surface pro 4.

 

The thing is i already have a pretty powerful gaming desktop as well as macbook air i7, my main use for the surface will be note taking in conferences and maybe some algorithm sketchwork(i meant like before writing a code, i usually try to come up with algorithm and for doing that i do a lot of rough works, but i intend to save all of them for future reference), and might be used for some light programing.

 

So is surface pro 4 m3 is good enough for my needs as note taking and sketching algorithms? Or do I really need the i5 model?

M3 would be fine. It's a good chip, from my experiences with it it handles browsing, 720p60 YouTube, etc without a hitch. 

 

Even handles CSGO at 1024x768 at like 40-50fps
