2600 vs G4560

So this morning I was talking with my mom and she wants me to build her a gaming PC that will last awhile.

So I'm parting stuff out and seeing if I can make her a budget gaming rig that will last her awhile.

I already have a power supply and my GTX 680 that I'm giving her.

So I parted everything else out (I found this purple case that she wants), and it came out to $400ish (this is including a monitor and WiFi adapter, as she wants WiFi, I know Ethernet is better, but not a viable option in our house).  So then I found this old Dell system for about $130, it comes with RAM, motherboard, and an i7 2600, case, power supply, and GPU.  Obviously the case, power supply, and GPU are getting switched out.  I'll be adding more RAM as it only comes with 2GB.

But the case she wants is only like... $35.

So the old Dell system, even with case replacement and RAM is cheaper than building the budget Pentium system.

My question is should I jump on the Dell system, as it is an i7-2600, and I know it's still quite a capable CPU, as that's what's in the roommate PC I helped build for my roommate way back.
Or should I jump on the G4560, as I know I can upgrade it to a Skylake or Kaby Lake i5 or i7 later on down the road.

Though I think the Dell system would be better, I save a little money and she still gets quite a capable system.

I just need some more opinions first, thank you.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

4560, get an i7 7700 soon as you can, the old 2600 is good but not worth it if you can afford something better.

It's for my mom.  The most intensive game she plays is "Tell Tale's The Walking Dead."

the Pentium should be more than enough, you also have a future upgradability

True.

But then again, still saving a buck and getting the 2600 as that is all that she plays.
