I'm a prospective college student and I'm getting a new laptop for when I start school. There are a lot of laptops, so I wanted to come here in narrowing down my search.

The only ones I've really looked at have been the Razer Blade and the Acer Predator 17, but I wanted to see what other options I had.

I don't really have a lot of specifics that I need this laptop to have, I just want something powerful, and with a long battery life. I'm trying to spend less than 2000$

Also I'd like to stay with Windows.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Razer laptops tend to overheat, avoid them

Thats why i say go to micro center to find a good laptop with long battery life. Also to see how loud it is.

Then why you suggest Razer Blade?

Loud isn't a big deal, when the system throttles due to overheating, that's a big deal

Battery Life is a big thing also if you get a predator 15 you need a 17in bag so keep that in mind.

When do I suggest Predator 15?

Because 1 one you get a lot better bang for your buck than a razor blade. Also the 17 in one very heavy. I also use a Predator 15 and I think it is a great laptop.

its fine. but has literally 0 advantages compared to both the P650HS and Alienware 15 R3. 0 advantages.

I have to say I am personally a fan of Clevo Notebooks as well as asus ROG based Notebooks... never had a problem with them (other than the motherboard dying in my G74, but I may have been at fault of that hehe .....)
