Im planning on upgrading my pc, current specs are:

Motherboard: GigaByte GA-B85M-D3H_V2.0

Video Card: Sapphire AMD RadeOn R7 265 Dual-X

CPU: Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition G3258 BOX

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue (2 x4GB)

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EZEX

PSU: Enermax NAXN Tomahawk II

This is what I'm looking to buy: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mnssr7

The new parts are:

- CPU

- Video card

1. Budget & Location

Im from Romania, currency is RON.

Overall price is 1653 RON ---> 404 USD (Memed)

I'm looking to keep it under 500 USD. (Going a bit higher for extra performance isn't a problem)

2. Aim

Planning to use this PC for gaming only. (No video editing, no streaming.)

3. Monitors

I use one monitor (I have a TV connected to my current PC but that is only turned on when watching movies at night)

4. Why are you upgrading?

Reason I'm upgrading is because I want to join the PC Masterrace.

I'm looking for any suggestions to making this build better, like swapping the CPU for another, etc.

"Going a bit higher for the extra performance isn't a problem". Also the build in the link he showed is around $700.

Price includes reused parts if you look carefully

Im not actually buying all of the parts in the above link, the only parts Im looking to change are those that will benefit a lot with games.

Only parts that are changed in the link I provided are the CPU and video card that I was thinking are good.

$200 more and you get double the performance. I don't know what the OP thinks about my build but it's certainly a lot better than his current one for $500.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy a new rig completly, but I will buy the CPU and videocard you guys suggest.

If you plan to buy the new CPU you will also need new RAM and motherboard to go with it. I know it will cost more but it will be a lot better and is also future prove compared t your parts.

Do you think the current PSU I have is bad ? I could save a bit by keeping the same one since it doesn't seem to differ a lot compared to the one you suggested ?

reviews of the PSU you have look pretty decent, should be fine for you to reuse it.

I recreated your suggestions in https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RYgN4C

Had to replace motherboard for compatibility, overall the price is 617, that's not very bad considering the parts would be new (I don't trust refurbished nor used parts, had bad experiences with those before)

the B85 board supports the i5 4xxx, you don't have to replace it along with the ram, PSU and storage. just use what you already have.

also, processors are very hard to kill, even with overclocking. used ones are fine, helps you save money or get something better.

I'm not sure if that's true https://pcpartpicker.com/list/44dwJV, the site says that the motherboard is incompatible, I need to look into it a bit more later.

After deciding on what parts I'll be buying, I'm going to check for a used processor but I probably won't buy without some sort of customer protection, I just don't want to get stuck with broken parts.

didn't you say your current specs had a B85 board?

My bad, you are right. Problem was I couldn't find the motherboard I actually have on pcpartpicker so I picked something similar (I was too tired).

Now I found the GA-B85M-D3H, however these are the parts I bought according to the email I got from the shop,

Still I found a closer motherboard to the one that I have its still incompatible, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NPFyr7 (GA-B85M-D3H)

it is compatible, PCPP is just saying that it might need a bios update to support the i5. since you're already using the G3258, the 4460 will be fully compatible with your motherboard.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

I understand, sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help. ^^
