Ubuntu firefox internet keeps going down

Hey, so I have Ubuntu running from a USB boot and whenever I connect to the internet on the default firefox browser, it'll work for a few minutes and then randomly cut out. I know its not anything with my network card or anything because when I close out of Ubuntu OS and launch windows I have 0 problems with my network/ What could be the issue? thanks

Which version of ubuntu? 16.04 or 17.04? What are the specs of the machine?
