FPS drop after idle for a minute

Wouterrr

Hey guys,

Recently I started to encounter something really strange.

Whenever I am in a game (for example CS:GO) or watching a youtube video/twitch live stream, my fps would decrease significantly after not using an input device (mouse/keyboard) for a minute.

It also looks like my CPU usage drops with about 10% and when I start using an input device the fps turns back to nornal.

I've searched the web for a bit and read a lot about Power Settings, but I have them all set to max performance and it doesn't seem to fix my problem.

I've also tried multiple different Graphics Card Drivers, even with fully clear installations, but this also did not solve the problem.

My system temps are fine and don't change when the problem occurs.

Here are my specs:

CPU: i7 4790k (never OC'd, (im lazy, dont judge me))

MOBO: MSI Z97S SLI Krait (BIOS Version V10.2)

GPU: MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G

RAM: Crucial Ballistix 16gb

HDD: Seagate HDD 1TB

SSD: Crucial MX100 128gb

Running on Windows 10 PRO 64-bit (V1607, build 14393.1198)

Hopefully you guys can help me out.

If you need more info, please let me know!

Maybe it's something to with power settings. Have you changed anything in bios or nvidia control panel lately?

sounds like something is activating while idle. pull up task manager and sort by cpu usage. try to recreate the issue while watching it. some programs will slow down or stop while you use your PC and then return to normal when idle. this could be the case and you will just need to stop the program and change some settings.

And I would run a virus scan. Always recommended lol.

Intel 7600K Over Clocked to 4.8 jibahurtz, GTX 1080 Founders Edition space heater, Cooler Master 212 Evo jet engine, 8GB DDR4 Ballistic Ram, 250GB hyperX ssd, Fractel Design Define S, Blue snowball on an arm mount, mismatched god monitors, dual keyboards, LG mouse (no vital signs, Think it died.)

So I updated to the Creators update and checked my Task Manager again while recreating the issue and it seems that I have syswin32.exe running (which didnt show on the previous windows version). After a quick google search it seems like it's a virus, so I'll try to get rid of it with my virusscanner. I'll keep updating.
