What GPU would be best for a i3 5020u? I'm wondering why because I know that I can squeeze the last little bit out of my i3

The iGPU.

 

Plus you can't change laptop graphics without Thunderbolt 3 box which I doubt you would buy with a cheap low end laptop.

is that a laptop? if yes then what laptop? because im 99% no gpu would fit in a laptop if there isn't a gpu in the first place

You can get a thing to dock a GPU without Thunderbolt 3
