File Explorer Glitch W10

Hi all,

I have had windows 10 installed on my PC for well over a year and not had any problems, but today i was in file explorer with the page the size of the screen and tried to resize it to make it smaller. when I did this it redued to a very small size and began to flicker, and did not respond. after a little bit of time i could click the exit button but it did  not respond for about 10 seconds and then it quit. as it closes everything on the screen disappears appart from my desktop background. It then goes back to normal. 

I have tried repeating this multiple times as well as turning off and restarting the system a couple of times. But no luck it still happens. 

 

Are there any suggestions people have to fix this? is this a known problem?
