Hi :)

I bought a used reference r9 290 a couple of days ago and it has really bad coil whine.

I can clearly hear it even when i'm just watching a youtube video, opening and closing folders and other really light stuff like that.

It makes a tick noise for each frame it has to render, i have linked 2 videos one were i have limited my game to 1 fps and another were i just let it run at what it could (so like 50 fps)

Do you guys have an idea of what i could do to lower the noise?

I have tried to run it with another power supply, but it did not change.

I have looked at the coils (the ones in the pic with green) I think it is them making the noise, but i am not shure, and i can't finde a way in to them. :/

Aside from being mildly annoyed, you could try to make your case quitter. You could try to apply some sound dampening material and hope that helps. Otherwise not really much to do without actually tampering with the card's electronics.
