Soo this is my first build ( I haven't built it yet ) and I want to know your opinions on it and if I have to change something. I will mostly play games on it and maybe stream or record some stuff. The price is around ~1000,00$ (CAD).

Thank you for the help !

Z170/270 motherboard are meant for overclocking. You selected the i5 6500, which isn't overclockable. Only Intel's "K" CPUs can be overclocked (ie. 6600k). Either drop the motherboard down to a B150/B250 or choose a "K" cpu that can be overclocked. It's a waste of money otherwise. Also, you don't need an aftermarket cooler unless you're doing a decent overclock, so drop that if you aren't.

You really should get an SSD in addition to your mechanical storage drive; a 240GB would do nicely. It's amazing. Trust me. With adjustments as stated above, you should be able to fit one in.

Don't bother with the GTX 1060 3GB.  Either get a 6GB 1060 or get a 4GB or 8GB RX580. I highly recommend the 580, it's a better value for your money. The 4GB rx580 should be around the same price or bump it up to the 8gb rx580 for just a little more cash.

Alternatively with the motherboard/CPU situation, you could and should consider Ryzen 5. You should have no problems fitting a Ryzen 5 1600 into the budget, plus it can be overclocked on it's lower end B350 motherboards and comes with a pretty good stock cooler. The extra cores and threads help a ton with pretty much everything else you'll be doing or could be doing besides gaming and it's gaming performance is roughly on par with i5s. It's good future-proofing.

Here is an example and my personal recommendation for a just over $1000 CAD build using Ryzen 5:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($280.25 @ shopRBC)
Motherboard: MSI - B350 PC MATE ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($126.00 @ Vuugo)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($87.99 @ Amazon Canada)
Storage: PNY - CS2211 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($109.99 @ Amazon Canada)
Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($85.95 @ Vuugo)
Video Card: MSI - Radeon RX 580 8GB ARMOR OC Video Card  ($316.99 @ Amazon Canada)
Case: Corsair - 100R ATX Mid Tower Case  ($54.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Power Supply: SeaSonic - S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($74.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Total: $1137.15
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-05-17 18:51 EDT-0400

The case can be changed to anything around the $50 mark, there is plenty to choose from.

The ARMOR OC is a good deal in Canada, has a decent cooler, and it's made by a reputable brand. If looks matter that much, than he can go ahead and get whatever. The standard AORUS seems to be a good card on paper, but I haven't heard too much about it. Personally, I don't think it looks that bad. The M12II, although old, still is a quality PSU. I don't claim to be any PSU expert though, that's for sure. CXM is an excellent choice, but I would consider bumping it up to a 550W. A 450W is cutting it somewhat close and it isn't fun needing to buy a new power supply when you realise it isn't enough for your upgrade. Power supplies are expensive here.

1. I know, I live in Canada, read my location.

AORUS is like STRIX but made by GIGABYTE, its their flagship series.

2. CXM is better and slightly cheaper (550W vs 520W)

3. I live in Canada, again read my location.

Yeah I know. I never stated once that you didn't live in Canada. And my PSU was a 620W and the one you suggested was a 450W. Where are you getting "550W vs 520W" from?

My most sincere apologies sir, but I have no clue what you are tying to get at. I thought we were talking about the 620W S12II VS the CXM 450W?

Also, the Aorus XTR is Gigabyte's flagship, not the regular Aorus.

The CX450M is $65 and is semi modular

The CX550M is $75 and is semi modular

The M12II 520 usually is ~$80 and is fully modular.

You sacrifice some performance and wattage for that full modular goodness.

The S12II 620 is $75 (which is the one I choose), the M12II 520 is $80 the CX550M is $80. I think we've gotten into a hardcore debate over $5. Probably best we just leave it at any of the three options will work just fine, but I wouldn't get anything short of 500W.

Sorry to the thread owner for probably ending up reading all this.
