Hello everyone, as the title suggests recently I've started experiencing unusually high CPU usages. By that I don't mean smth like 80% or even anything above 30% but there is still something stressing my CPU that wasn't doing it before.
To begin with, I am using the Asus N752VX and it all started today when I launched my forza motorsport 6 (the win10 free game) for some lovely play time, however, I was experiencing FPS among the values of 10-15 which is extremely unusual because usually if not at all times it's buttery smooth. I got curious and started checking my processes to see if I can find something there and I found a process called System Interruptions which if I recall correctly I have never seen before. It's not giving me values higher than 0.50% however I read a bit about it and mostly people suggested that you should install DPS Latency Checker and start turning off drivers one by one from the Device Manager to see which is causing it. Well .. I did so but not a single one showed any improvement, I kept being among the 1000-2000 lines (varying among that range sometimes spiking above never going below 1000). I even saw a suggestion saying you should try updating your BIOS and I checked the official Asus website and there was indeed a new BIOS update so I installed it but again .. no improvement. Since then I started up Forza again to see how it will perform and it was kind of better but still not like before. Ran a full scan with Windows Defender but no threats were found. It is worth mentioning also btw that I tried pirating (don't hate me .. poor student here) Forza Horizon 3 a few days ago from some piratebay proxy but I failed making it work so I uninstalled and removed completely but during that time and a bit afterwards my Defender was going crazy about some file which I deleted afterwards as well plus I didn't spot any performance issues after removing it but rather a day or smth after that. So .. can anyone suggest anything ?

Well if the torrent had any type of malicious intent you have to run a backup. If the torrent has nothing to do with it, then something must have changed.

Run windows updates first.

What do you mean by "Run windows updates first" ? Windows updates are fully up to date.

I was just making sure we can rule that out, as updates have a tendency to 1) take a while and 2) use a good chunk of system resources.

Have you tried restoring your computer to a point before the torrent?

Well I haven't because first of all I don't know much about restoring to a last stable point and second of all because of that I don't even know if there's such existing because I never back up :S (reason being I keep all the important files on an external HDD)

Well on a plus side, if all important files are on external drive, and this CPU usage is really bugging you.... You can unplug your external hdd and clean install windows again.

Also, the forza series is THE BEST. I purchased a 360 and xbox one just for the forza series, and it's great to see they've been porting over to Windows now. Forza Horizon 3 is worth buying and supporting :)

Yeah they definitely are, I just don't have that much spare money :D As for my problem I will try some day to download some legit driver checking program and see if there's any errors if not find a day when I'm free and reinstall win10 until then .. gonna study for my finals :D guess I can live with it. Will post something new if I get anything done even it being a reinstall.

I wouldn't download any "driver checking" software. Windows can check for itself, heck I bet 50% of driver checking software will end up screwing up your computer more than help.

Just go to device manager, right click anywhere and do scan for changes. If there are none, reboot your computer and "check for updates" one last time. (even though you said it's up to date) Windows update will 99% of the time get you any drivers you need. (Except for lets say, nvidia graphics drivers, which are proprietary)

So I did some further reading and apparently it's some malware or idk what that is fucking up stuff. Basically fries your cpu until you open task manager.. many people say it's an app that hides under the name igfxupdater but I don't have such an app, however I have an app that's under it's true name - SearchIndexer (MS answer). Sadly the fix they propose does not work for me. I only have it as a few apps under such a name and not as a service thus CMD refuses to delete it for me, trying to manually delete with shift+del also does not work since it forbids me because I don't have permission. Ran Malwarebytes and it found some trojans (I was really surprised tbh since I always try to keep my system as clean as possible but I guess that's the pirate life) but I think it still persists. Any idea how I can delete these files btw ?

So I installed malware bytes last night and as I said it did find some malwares. This morning I booted up the laptop and so far I haven't open task manager (been running for about 30-40m) and no airplane taking off sounds have been heard. I still want to delete this SearchIndexer but I don't have the permission .. anyone have any ideas how ? Also I ran DPC latency checker and it still goes around 1000 (yellow bars) and a friend of mine ran it too and it was among the green bars at all times (below 1000). What would you guys recommend for me to try in order to detect if there's really something ? I tried Malwarebytes but I still want to try smth else to be 100% sure.
