I order a PSU before I found out that my IMC on my CPU or mobo might be dead (but I can get into the bios) and my new PSU is arriving today and I want to get a build and according to Cooler Masters power supply calculator it will pull 440 watts (I have a +650mhz on CPU R5 1400) and my PSU is 450 watts would I be able to run my build?

Im mostly on discord now and you can find me on my profile

My Build: Xeon 2630L V, RX 560 2gb, 8gb ddr4 1866, EVGA 450BV

My Laptop #1: i3-5020U, 8gb of DDR3, Intel HD 5500

As I stated a while back, it looks to be based on the same platform as the EVGA 500/600B; however, it lacks a heatsink on the bridge rectifier and have a lower 30C temperature tolerance.

A 450 Watt power supply does not have a lot of room for overclocking and a graphics card.

basically this psu is tier 4 / below. Not recommended. There are much better options for similar prices such as the Seasonic S12II which are Tier 3. Tier 1-3 are always recommended. Plus Seasonic = Safesonic.

Tier 4 is still fine for a low wattage PC.

Full specs? CM Power Calculator (or any calculator) is very shit as they exaggerate a lot on power usage

450W is not enough (I mistakenly saw 650W and thought it's enough lol)

Ok didn't see it

For a GTX 770 it should pull no more than 400w on load (test paired with i7 3960x)

55190.png

In case you are wondering how much a difference in power an i7 sandy bridge with your Ryzen 5

The i7 3960x is a 130w TDP chip while R5 1400 is only at 65w ish (yes that's rough comparison, you should not compare TDP)

So you are more than fine with that PSU, however the quality is questionable, I think it is on the level of an EVGA 450B which is mediocre but still fine
