[RX 580] Black screen for 3 secs when gaming full screen

MilfShake

Please help, this only happens when gaming in full screen mode, it does not happen when browse the web, or watch video in full screen. The screen will go black for 2-3 seconds, it looks exactly like when we try to change resolution or change from windowed mode to full screen mode. This happens randomly.

This does not happen if I game in windowed mode, but I want to game in full screen to have benefits of freesync.

I'm using dual monitor setup, with the monitor I game in set as the main display. I have tried:

- DDU and install older/newer drivers

- Use different display port on the gpu

Before this I used a Nvidia gpu and this never happened.

CPU: Ryzen 2 2700@ 4.0Ghz    Mobo: Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 Wifi    Cooler: EVGA CLC 240    GPU: GTX1080 FTW DT @ 2113Mhz   PSU: EVGA 750W P2

Case: Fractal Design Meshify C   Displays: 34" LG34UC79G, 24" Dell

Make sure all of your Nvidia software is removed.

Try another cable if you have one; since you're using Freesync I assume you're using Display Port, correct?

Never dismiss a possible solution because of a respected brand.

Yes I'm using displayport. All Nvidia stuff were removed by DDU.

I figured out the problem, it was Afterburner, if I closed afterburner everything would be back to normal.

Now I'm just trying to find a program to monitor fps

Use FRAPS, it has a built in benchmark tool as well.
