Hello,

I am planning to build a pc and modified some parts on pcpartpicker uk (UK ONLY!!).

Could someone take a look and tell me if all the parts fit, if i need more fans, if the radiators fit, etc...

Thank You

When it comes to builds it's mostly preference but coming from an owner of an i7 7700K I'd advise against it if you plan on overclocking it runs hot even with stock speeds. Intel also advises against it which is kinda nonsense since it's an overclockable CPU. If you legi t have the funds for it though go for it.

Snowblind: i7 7700K | Corsair H100i V2 | EVGA 1070 SC | Aorus Gaming K7 |16GB Corsair Vengence 3200Mhz | MX300 275GB M.2 | WD Blue 1TB | NZXT S340 Elite (White)

Agree with @MrOutlawTV. Try finding a suitable subsitute for the 7700k, maybe a Ryzen chip if you can cough up the money. 6700k works as well.

Otherwise looks pretty solid. (The question is are you going to actually use all of that horsepower?)

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Are you planning to overclock? If not then maybe change the CPU, after all why pay extra for a Overclockable CPU if your not taking full advantage of it. I would suggest Ryzen like other have mentioned, they preform very well for the price.

Yea no I would not get a 1080ti for 1080/1440p. A 1070 should be good.

Well... the 1080ti will probably be good enough for 4K next year, but it does have that hefty $700 price tag, $300 more than a 1070.

As in getting a 4K monitor? If your really planning on waiting that long to take full advantage of a system like this then maybe try to lower the cost or get a higher budget and get a 4K monitor now.

What's the computer for? If it's for just gaming, you don't need 4TB pretty much no matter what. If it's something more, that i7 is a bad choice.

  • 2 weeks later...

I would get the i7 6700k over the i7 7700k as it is the same chip pretty much just more mature slicon amd has done it with their rx 400 series gpu as the 500s are just a refresh. If you do go with a i7 7700k then would look into deliding the cpu to change the Tim as the Tim used is very poor most the time it's not recommend as it voids warnty could trash the chip and only lose a few C in temps but with the i7 7700k a lot are seeing 10-30c diffrance. And a 1080ti for a high end 1440p display is worth it such as 100-160hz montir or an ultra wide montir but for 60hz 1440p it's not worth it even a 1060 could probably do 60hz almost and a 1070 can for sure also the 1070 can do 4k at mid settings for most games around 30-60fps. And also wait for vega as it might be better price to profmace or better profmace. And Intels x299 chipset should be coming out soon. Forgot the price but there is an i9 4 core 8 threads that runs at 4.2ghz or more o beleive and might have better Tim for close to the same price of the i7 7700k

Isn't a 7700K around the same price as a 6700k? Also it seems as if OP has never built a PC before, I would NOT recommend deliding the CPU, also I would expect i9's to be for things like video editing/workstation loads.

Isn't a 7700K around the same price as a 6700k? Also it seems as if OP has never built a PC before, I would NOT recommend deliding the CPU, also I would expect i9's to be for things like video editing/workstation loads.

Yes a i7 7700k is only $30 more then a i7 6700k but it has crap tim. Also there is suppose to be a i9 that is 4 cores 8 threads and runs around the same clock speed of the i7 7700k maybe a little bit faster. Just like I think they are making a i9 that will pretty much be an i5 from what I understand it is trying push there comsumers into the enthisuest grade stuff what is genrally more money.

Even Intel them self said do not oc the I7 7700k if u don't want high temps. Intel hasn't said they used crap tim but everyone who is talking about the Tim is saying It is crap
