Upgrade time

With all the new amd cpus and intel not having an improvement should i wait to upgrade and see what kinda response intel has with its next gen of cpus?

Depending on what price range you're looking at

Intel Cannonlake / Coffelake is going to be another incremental upgrade.

 

If you are buying something in the HEDT market, maybe wait for X299

Otherwise, go Ryzen.

Nothing special but anything would be a massive upgrade to what i have now looking at mostly i5 and 1500 price range

Does that come with a new stock cooler that you have to pay $100 more than the original?

INTEL: Well, consumers didn't complain too much about our K SKU CPUs not having a cooler. let's just ship ALL CPUs without a cooler!! We definitely need the extra 0.5% margin on our already incredibly expensive dual-core CPUs
