Hey all,

I'll get straight into the action, I'm planning to build myself a new computer, as my old computer is just not sufficient enough for the games I want to play. My current pc has the following specs:

Amd Athlon X4 740

AMD Radeon R7 260X

And some other generic parts, as I bought it pre-built from a local company 5 years ago.

The budget I'm aiming for is 800 euro's max, which comes down to 700 dollars, I find. The main use of the computer will be gaming, but I'm also planning on going to college, so it has to have smooth productivity aswell. I already own 2 monitors and peripherals, so those don't concern me. both monitors being just regular full HD.

I put together a list of components, but as it is my first time building a pc myself, I'm afraid I'll screw up and have incompatible parts and that something will not work. Here are my preferred parts:

AMD Ryzen 5 1400

ASRock A320M

Crucial DDR4-2133 2x4 GB

Crucial MX300 525GB SSD

MSI Radeon RX570 ARMOR 4G OC

Corsair Carbide 88R

Corsair CX450M

Arctic F12 120mm

I'm looking for any and all tips you guys can give me, thanks in advance.

EDIT: After some tinkering and playing around with the tips you guys gave me, I came up with the following setup:

AMD Ryzen 5 1400

ASRock AB350M

G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 2800MHz 2x4GB

WD Green SSD M.2 240 MB

WD Blue 1TB

AUS ROG-STRIX RX 570 O4G

Corsair Carbide 88R

be quiet! Pure Power 10 500W

Arctic F12 120mm Case fan

Any tips?

Why did you go for better memory and another Motherboard, if I may ask?

Ryzen benefit from high speed RAM

The mobo you choose can't overclock

May I know why you need such large SSD instead of going 1TB HDD + 240-275GB SSD?

Also, if RX 480/580 is a bit more, go for it.

EDIT: Here is the PcPartPicker link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fjCf4C

I would go for faster ram as ryzen needs it becuase ryzen is 2 core clusters and I would go with a 1600 if you can the extra 2 cores could do a lot and If possible get a b or x mobo as it will have the ability to oc the cpu. Also get a better rated psu maybe? I heard that cheaping out on psu's can hurt your system from power surges. I mean it's not a bad psu just if you could I would try to get a little bit higher tier psu

If you can aforid this. Would probably get 5 or so years out of It again and some oc on the cpu.

My current computer only has an hdd and it makes a hell of a lot of noise constantly, i wanted to go as silent as possible because i find the sound very annoying. Maybe you know what type of hdd makes the least noise? It would be a great way to lower the cost and maybe allow me to go for the 580 instead. :)

Usually HDD don't make loud noise unless there's a problem with HDD

Yeah probably there's a problem. Try changing a new HDD

I still need a new pc though, my old one is getting to slow for modern games, but I think I will go for an HDD with an additional smaller SSD then, do you have any recomendations concerning the hard drives?

Any HDD will work just fine, WD Blue and Seagate Bararcuda are among the popular choices

Sorry about recommending the 7350K, only reason why I recommended it is purely because it's a bit more than a 7320 but can overclock and doesn't bottleneck too many video cards.

I would definitely go for either an i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1400. I would go for an RX 470 or 480 since the RX 5 series is literally a rebranded version of the 4 series that AMD are selling for a higher price.

You are nearly at twice his budget. Also for $1300 that isn't a good build.
