If you have no video at all from the GPU right now, use On Board graphics to do it.

I figured it out, it ended up being a combination of my monitor, drivers and the dvi port on the gpu

So I bought a 980 and I installed it in my pc and it booted just fine so I installed GeForce experience and then hit the express driver install and when it finished installing the screen went black, I powered down my pc and rebooted it but it just showed the windows loading screen and then a black screen. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I did that, and it launched then when I reinstalled geforce experience it went black again.

then your GPU is probably dead, what is your PSU?

Yep probably the GPU is faulty, the PSU is delivering power right.
