Hey guys, :)

I'm planning on buying my new main monitor next month, and GPU along with possibly 2 others later in the summer when Vega is out. I've always used nVidia, but I now want to try team red since they've been doing so well lately.

 - Main use is for Web App Development and RPG + MMORPG games (Using Windows)

 - Also needs to look superbadass...

 - If Vega sucks, then i guess I'll go 1080ti...

 - I don't really want to spend more than $1500 on displays, to me its worth it since i spend most of my day everyday looking at them, but anymore is a waste IMO.

 - I might later add a 50-55" 4K TV at the other side of the room if i think it will be useful

 - I've reserved about 8' of monitor space

 - I'm contemplating a smaller laptopsized touchscreen below main monitor for custom macros, launcher, etc.

I'm sot sure a 37.5" ultrawide is worth the huge price premium for barely increased real estate, and it would probably not fit well with triple monitors. Gsync vs Freesync is also hard because i personally like the more open AMD approach better, and I've heard that the Predator x34 had quality control issues. I'm considering cause Predator is 100hz vs 75hz on other options. I'll ask someone to collect it for me, so RMA will be a big annoyance esp for something like backlight bleed.

Please leave your, opinions, suggestions, etc. thx

1x 4k + 2x/1x 1080p/1440p monitor (no ultrawide)

i find that 1440p has almost outlived it's 'lifespan', as it's a stepping stone from 1080p to 4k (like 4:3 mush to 1080p, poor 720p)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

How will that be for Scaling and Surround though? I also tend to find it a bit disconcerting moving between windows with different physical or resolution heights...

personally, i have a 4k monitor and a 1080p monitor, so i can speak from experience

(also its 27" 1080p and 28" 4k)

i don't do surround gaming, my 1070 is nowhere powerful enough .. and i dont have desk space for another 1080p monitor :P

for scaling, it's a mixed bag. 175% scaling for me is pretty good, 100% scaling is too tiny. on the 1080p monitor, it looks fucking huge but on the 4k monitor it looks normal (desktop icons)

moving programs from screen to screen works perfectly for me..

i do gaming on the main 4k monitor usually, and i have something like youtube/discord on the other monitor.

I would if they announced the release date, but it's not exactly getting stuff imported here. Can't miss opportunities. :(

Also I'm not a really heavy AAA gamer. RX580 Crossfire should be okay in a worst case scenario, I wouldn't bee too depressed.

as I found out, NVIDIA doesn't support surround unless all 3 of your panels are the same resolution, but AMD does

I use a 34" ultrawide with two 27s in an upside down pyramid. It works wonders. Sometimes I kind of wish I had a second ultrawide instead though
