What do I think of them? Not much. They're obsolete and pretty much useless now. Unlike something like an old car, there's not really any reason to have old PC components unless you're trying to collect every CPU or something. Even then, it's useless for anything other than a collection piece.

What do you guys think of some of the frist micro processors that came out such as the intel 4004, Intel's first microprocessor.

What are you trying to achieve with this thread?

The answer will be: revolutionary at the time but junk by modern standards... It's like asking someone what the 1st TV was like. Great but crap compared to what we have now.

What am I trying to achive.....I just want to talk about how far technology has progressed in such a short span of time, and maybe a bit about Moores Law and all. If your not into old vintage stuff and all why even bother to replay to this thread?

That will never be in my heart. I'd rather have a 486 or Pentium 3...

Still, it's impressive how far we have come.

I'm 14, not by a long shot. I just like DOS and Windows 9x games. I know DOSBox exists, but it would be cool to have the original hardware.

I'm 18, I got some old windows 98 and 2000 in my house from and old computer shop that closed down. Trying looking into computer junk shops they can have cool old hardware.

Nice. I want to start a project where I heavily underclock a Pentium 4 to run Windows 98. Can't wait to start.
