The case is that I've had my PSU for about 5 - 6 years now, and I'm starting to wonder if the next upgrade should be a new PSU. My system is still running stable and gives enough power to all my components. When is a good time to think about upgrading the PSU when it comes to age? Imo 5 - 6 years is quite some time, it was back when I was running a GTS 450 and a old AMD Athlon X4, should I invest some money in a decent power supply now just to be sure I don't destroy any of components when it decides to die? :)

when components die, its 50/50 if they damage other parts. personally ive seen psu last 10 yrs. if worried just give it a de-dust (blow out) , excess heat is the main component killer. also components now are getting more eco friendly(require less wattage) so the choice is yours.

What PSU is it?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
