LG g3 - mines flickering. Gf is bluescreening

Hey guys. I'm having kind of a strange issue where my LG g3 started to flicker and fade recently. Now I know other people have had that issue but several days later my gfs g3 starts blue screening. That seems too coincidental to me not to ask about it. Has there been some sort software issues lately? Or are we just weirdly unlucky? Also does anyone know a resolution to these issues that doesn't involve baking the motherboard?
