so most likely 1 of my 4 ram sticks are bad ( i'm unable to run memtest86 ) i took out all 4 of my sticks and put in my 2 old from my old PC and it have been working properly without a BSOD for 83 hours.

got a 4930k so the x4 sticks was for getting the benefit quad channel.

i'm currently 1-3 weeks away from getting new ram so i was wondering is it worth trying the sticks 1 by 1 to see which one is the fault one then just use the 3 good ones until later?

( a friend told me since it seems 1 of the sticks is causing the issue just running it solo will likely end in a crash rather fast )

will running 3 sticks be better than running 2 in a dual channel? ( i dont have that much knowledge when it comes to ram )

Just run them through one by one, and get rid of the faulty stick. You should be fine running 3 sticks of RAM instead of 4 or 2.

You should run them in dual channel first, pick any two, load them and boot the PC, see which pair gives a crash then do a single boot.

I am assuming all the RAM was purchased at the same time and is from the same kit because different kits may have different timings that will cause the issue.

Did you try to clear your CMOS when this first started happening?

yes i did clear cmos and after that i thought it was fine i went 2 months without a bsod then they started to come back and was way more frequent, and as i said i went over to my x2 old sticks of ram from my old computer and have had no issue for almost 90 hours,

howcome i should run them in dual channel? shouldnt it fail faster if i just take 1 at a time considering all the load will be put on that 1 stick?

It will fail faster but from experience you would want to ensure it is the RAM and not the MOBO or a combination of both. If they run in dual channel with no issues, both pairs i mean, then it maybe a quad channel  issue. Are you sure this quad kit is recommended for your MOBO by either the MOBO manufacture or the RAM vendor?

well i'm not 100% sure about the ram, but it's Kingston  2 set of  DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 8GB ( 4x2 )

 but the mobo supports quadchannel

tomorrow  morning i think i will test most of the things

I know the MOBO supports quad channel, i am saying you need to test if one of the MOBO's RAM slots may have gone bad as well and if that particular RAM kit is supported as dual or quad channel by the MOBO. If you want i can check for you if you post the actual kit s/n and then MOBO model.

actually 1 last thing before i go to bed,

i am currently running my 2 sticks of ram in channel 3 and 4,

so i'm guessing that means i should try the sticks in the same slots?

Slots 3&4, it should be slots 2&4 for dual channel.
