Acer CZ340CK or LGUM88C-P, which should I get?

Trying to decide between these two monitors (Acer CZ340CK or LGUM88C-P). They are very similar and both have these specs:

-34" 3440x1440p

-IPS

-75Hz native (but some people say they can't get 75hz to work on the LG which would be a deal breaker for me)

-10bit

-5ms

-$599

 

The differences:

-Acer has 3yr warranty, LG has 1 yr

-Acer [dynamic] contrast ratio is 100,000,000:1, LG is 5,000,000:1

-LG has USB 3.0 ports, Acer does not have USB ports.

-LG has freesync, Acer only has adaptive sync (I use Nvidia anyway so I don't care about freesync)

-Acer is curved (1900r), LG is flat

 

Right now I'm leaning towards the Acer, anyone here have one? Would you recommend it?

 

I'm willing to consider another monitor if you have a better option but the <$700 price point is critical. I will use it mostly for gaming but also some video editing, productivity, etc. (Also, I don't mind having black bars and using it as a 27" 16:9 for any games that don't support 21:9, since I play mostly newer games I don't see this being a problem though.)

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

That's what I thought but one reviewer seemed to indicate otherwise. Maybe he was just mistaken.

Adaptive Sync is the basis for Freesync, but it's not necessarily the same thing. Adaptive sync is a VESA standard that deals with screen tearing. Freesync is an AMD standard that adds some extra requirements from manufacturers on top of Adaptive Sync. As of now, I don't think Nvidia supports Adaptive sync, so you'd need an AMD gpu to benefit from it.
