Surface Book to LG Ultrawide Monitor Issues

SurfaceIssues

I think the answer to this may be that I need an "active mini display port to HDMI" cable, but want to get input if I can. Found my way here.

I just bought a Microsoft surface book and LG ultrawide monitor (29UM59), surface dock enabled me to get the 2560x1080 resolution for a week, but then my surface book stopped communicating with the monitor. I go into display settings and can see the 2nd monitor, but cannot connect to it and the screen says "no signal". Frustrating.

Have swapped out the dock twice, not the dock. Monitor works with other computers, so seems the dock cannot communicate with the monitor properly.

Have to use mini displayport to hdmi connection, no other choice.

Anyone able to confirm type of cable I need OR if the two simply are not compatible?

Thanks

J

could be a driver issue, seen some docks that need a driver to function properly. maybe it updated the driver automatically from windows update. try rolling back the driver for the dock.
