R9 290X Temp

Hi guys :)

I have 2 r9 290X VTX3D In my computer. My 1st gpu is 52 degrees and my 2nd gpu is 36 when it's idle. I was wondering if that is a safe temperature? Mostly my 1st gpu, its 52?

 

Here is all my specs if you need them! :)

Windows 10 home 64 bit

CPU: Intel i5 4690 3,50 GHz

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z97M-D3H

GPU1: R9 290X    VTX3D

GPU2: R9 290X    VTX3D

Storage: 465GB Crucial CT500BX100SSD1

RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 799MHz

Load temps are the ones that matter

Just keeping this here as a 52°C @ idle is a little high for my preference but so long as both stay under 80~85°C when under load they should be fine.

Well, I'm pretty sure my temp is CSGO, STEEP and more games is about. 80-85 degrees?

 

So it can't break or deal damage to my gpu that it's 52 degrees idle?

pfff my 290 used get up to 98C and throttle like a little bitch until I watercooled it

So it doesn't matter my idle temp is high? Can it deal damage to my gpu?

It should not no but I'd personally like it in the mid to low 40°C's when the system is idle. What it maxes out at under load is more important.

But was the idle temp also about 50?

I think it was more around 58-60ish With the stock Blower cooler ( that thing was super shit)

Water cooled at idle it was down to like 40 somthing

The thermal paste gets baked over time. Replace once a year.

Before my first change it was well into the 80's at load

Now on Noctua's NT-H1. You can use any CPU thermal paste that isn't conductive

 

Yhea, I have some spare for last time I did it? I guess I just can use from the same little box it's in? And thanks for the tip! :) I will do it soon i think
