Have i applied Thermal Paste Properly?

About 3 hours ago now i installed a aftermarket CPU cooler with some grizzly kryonaut thermal paste. at idle temps its running at 22c and 100 load using 3DMark it sits at high 50's. however while doing normal tasks like this for example i see spikes in the CPU temp spiking anywhere to low 30's to high 30's and a second later dropping back down to 23c. Is this normal? or have i done something wrong?

i thought you should only see gradual temperature changes? not second spikes between 10+ degrees?

Perfectly normal, if you look when the temp spikes, the cpu usage will normally spike too (common when opening a new program or window)
