My bad, WS 2012 is running on a VM but for samba, it is on a container.

I run it on a container because it was working well that way until i try to connect to it from my desktop.

I tried with both ip adress and domain name (using my dns)

Don't actually know anything but make sure to quote people so they know you replied @Electronics Wizardy

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Or this:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

What error do you get when you try to connect

Try turning off all the firewalls.

So after, a bit of research, I listened to tcp paquets (445/tcp) from my computer to see what could be wrong et compared with my laptop for which it's working well. The major difference that i spotted is that after my laptop send his smb request, he gets an answer and then switch to smb2 protocol but my desktop doesn't do. He send negotiation paquet, receive answer and then nothing ...

I tried activating / deactivating smb2 to make the service restart but it didn't change anything

If anyone has an idea, I would take it. If none has, could you help me to know were I can ask that question ?

PS: I didn't try to reset my computer and I'd like as much as possible to don't have to

PS2: On my laptop, I tried to reach samba with wifi and using the same internet cable as my desktop and both worked
