can u tell us more about ur specs ? , any recent changes ?, how did this happen ( u were gaming or just idle .. etc )?

The weird thing is the republic of gamers screen that looks fine , so u might want to

Download DDU from guru3d website , uninstall drivers and hook up the latest one

and maybe try underclocking the gpu

Ur screen gives the impression of a busted gpu but thats not always the case

if software solutions didnt help then its obviously an in board defect , maybe its a blown cap ? take a good look at gpu under the hood and check for physical damage

I tried the same HDMI cable on my motherboard port, and it's working fine. :'(

Seems like a dead GPU to me.

how new was the GPU?

Less than 2 years.

it might still be under warranty. worth it to check.

other than that, try removing and re-inserting the GPU to see if that kickstarts it, and try to test it in another PC to see if it works there if possible.

Try reseating the GPU ,that looks to be a weird issue since the Republic of gamers logo seems fine,i had a GeForce 8400 which had a similar issue but everything got yellow, the GPU was loose in the socket and just fell off! (the GPU was fine) try the onboard graphics (it should have a iGPU since it's a 4790k) and see if it's a fine picture with the iGPU.Try the card in a different computer.See if that changes anything,if fine on a different computer, then the PCIe slot on your Maximus VI is shot, try a different PCIe slot,if all that doesnt help, the card is dead

To the people pointing out the rog logo: this is actually the part indicating the dead gpu: The logo is rendered by the motherboard and just put over the rest of the image generated by the gpu. So the gpu puts out a broken image that is still being combined with the working logo and then sent via the hdmi connection - which also points to the cable not being the problem.

It's still under warranty but I've lost the invoce slip. Sadly, I can't do nothing.

The cable is fine. Works well with on board graphics.

As you noted above that there is a slight burning smell, that's a really bad sign and the card will become more damaged as much u power it on since the heat and the burning could kill it even more, the are you indicated from which the burning smell originated, that looks like a ram chip popped

Can use the oven method. ?

What if the chip is broken? Im not totally sure if thats bad solder, overvoltage to the chip, etc, better ask the card manufacturer for warranty.a oven used for what u said should never be used to cook food, better off buying a new GTX 1080 or 1070 since they perform better than the 980
