Hello everyone I really need some advice here so my rig has the amd Fx 8350 and it's running a lot hotter than it should be and I have no idea why. My setup is a

msi gma p34 Fx mobo

8gb ram

evga gtx 1050ti

amf fx 8350

in my case I have three 120mm fans and the cooler master hyper 212 evo and the CPU itself. I am getting 40-50c idle and 68c while gaming and that is a lot hotter than I'd like since amds site says the temp should only be like 61c at most so idk what more to do. I replaced a fan in the front of my case my case being the raidmax horus mid tower case. Idk what more to do to get the temps down cause 68 isn't acceptable. I also used artic silver 5 on the heatsink.

That is a small bit hot. Check your system for dust, as mentioned above. If it's clean, use software to set more aggressive fan curves. This will get the fans to spin up at lower temperatures and should help. But 68C isn't actually crazy for an FX chip, depending on the ambient temperature?

There are many free software utilities available for setting fan curves, which you can easily find via a google search.

The previous FX series is a bit of confusing mess. The issue with AM3+ mobo's are that some are targeted at low end FX 4000 series which are low TDP but AM3+ also supports FX 8000 series but are 125W. Some mobo's really shouldn't support them as they have VRM soo bad they could be hazardous.

Your mobo is an example of this issue with it being a 760G Chipset and having a low VRM Phase it is a recipe for disaster. Honestly I would buy a new mobo. This mobo might officially 'supports' the FX 8350 you really should pair it up with it. Sorry.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.
