[HD Issue] HD is not recognized by the bios

Hi all!

I'm new, so its great to be here!

I'm having an issue with an old (very old) HD that i have.

It's actually it was my dad's old computer. I bought him a new one and tried to salvage some data out of it.

so I connected it to my PC using a sata cable and my computer posted but it got stuck on the post window for like 20 seconds, then it was able to read all IDE devices (besides the old HD unfortunately).

I tested the HD on 2 different computers and got the same results. the HD is not recognized by the bios.

the disk is spinning. plus after 20 mins of tries the HD got hot (i mean it was doing something... it wasn't that hot).

The HD is a Hitachi HDT722525DLA380 model, 250GB capacity. warranty was expired in feb-2006 :)

It has 2 partitions on it if it makes any difference.

what can i do to bring it back to life? even only temporary, just to cope some files i got there.

If you need me to do something to check something just ask.

Thank you in advance!

Death.

(lol its the first time i sign a thread with this nickname, feels weird)

You shure the drive isn't dead, that seems likely.

Id try anouther pc if you can.

If you really want data back send it to a datarecovery service

you mean just the electric board? putting the disks in a humid area is not a good idea.
