cant overclock g.skill memory?

so i just finished building my new itx ryzen 7 1800x system with the new biostar x370gtn motherboard. runs great so far. but i havent been able to get above stock 2133mhz memory frequenzy. i'm using a 32gb kit of gskill ripjaws 5 3200mhz. i know that i wouldn't be able to hit that top speed until more bios updates and refinements came out, but i at least wanted to see what it could do.. i tried several different speeds at several different voltages. each time ended in a boot loop until it reset the bios (and my fan curve >:| ). i am using the latest bios. i haven't poked around with timings yet, as i'm not too good with memory tuning.

i know that i can't hit 3200mhz. but i got it thinking that in the future the memory issues would get fixed, and i could get more performance over time by upping the speed each time.

any help is appreciated. thanks.

There are no memory issues.

But AMD compatibility issues.

Ryzen seems to be super-picky when it comes to single rank vs. dual rank at certain speeds and capacities from what I've read when trying to get parts for my Ryzen build.  I'd wait for further BIOS and microcode tweaks.  Supposedly AMD was going to release some more updates related to memory in May.

For context, Ryzen is only supposed to do 1866 with 4 dual rank sticks, so I guess your 2133 is kind of something already...

the biostar x370gtn is an itx board with only 2 memory slots. i'm using a 2 x 16gb kit. so it would be 2 dual rank sticks.
