I was planning on getting the new 2017 Gear 360, and then I realized it only works with Samsungs and iPhones because they're stupid (like honestly, why iPhone before other androids???) anyways, is there a good alternative at about 200 dollars? 4k and live streaming would be extremely nice too but not required. OR is there anything different you think I should get now (in any category, just not PC upgrade) that the nicest 360 camera at that price is unuseable for me.

Looked at that. Anything else? Also do you think Samsung will add support to all androids?

to be honest with you, 360 cameras are mostly a gimmick. LG cam is the only decent priced 360 camera you can find it for a vary cheap price. I am no idea what Samsung will do, the Samsung 360 camera is not popular enough, only reason people have it is they got it for free.

What else would you recommend as a birthday present then?

depends on the price, a smartwatch such as Motorola smartwatch around 150$,lg 360 camera depends on region, a Nintendo switch( i love mine), computer hardware upgrade there are many things you can ask for.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what your looking for but one of my favorite 360 cams is the 360 fly.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/360fly-panoramic-360-hd-video-camera-black/9131042.p?skuId=9131042

Its not exactly handheld but if you like outdoors/action activities its kind of cool. Don't own one myself but we have one at work and I have gotten to play with it a bunch at vendor shows.

My RIG:

I7 6700k - GTX 1080 -  32GB Ram - 256GB 950 Pro(boot) + 1TB 850 EVO(Programs) + 4TB 860 EVO(Games) + 1TB WD Black (Files)
