Wifi Specs

Hey guys I need your guys help (again) so I have a cheap usb wifi adapter off ebay and it sucks so now I need to find a new wifi adapter but I don't know what the specs mean or what I should be looking for, please if you have any helpful info tell me.

no that's a video card not wifi adapter

B,G,N is usually what you should look for and theoretical speed, get a PCIE card.

they are more expensive because they are better.

for some reason the people making USB wifi have decided the following things

- we somehow dont need antenna's anymore

- 2.5 watts is totally enough power for wifi

- we dont need to cool the thing at all, not even a heat spreader, that'll be very reliable for long sessions wont it?

ya I am going to try to get a pcie but if I cant I will get a usb with antennas

even if they have antennas they still lack the power and eventually manage to overheat either way..

 

surprisingly.. usb wifi manufacturers manage to combine lower power with higher temperatures..

Get a PCIE card.... USB Wifi cards suck. Get one that is AC Wifi for around $50
