So I just realized on Macs mouse acceleration is enabled by default for mice. I recently got this app called "Mouse Acceleration" and I finally was able to disable it. Now the problem is that I've been using acceleration for gaming all my life and now I have to practice using it. No wonder macs aren't good for gaming

You can game perfectly fine with mouse acceleration on btw.

It's just personal preference.

is it true you can aim better in csgo without acceleration though

I've seen people be good with acceleration and other people be good without acceleration.

If you practice enough you can get good with either one.

I tried playing without acceleration for a while, everything felt extremely sluggish because the dpi needs to be fairly low (in order to aim accurately on small targets) but this means your mouse movements need to be huge, like moving your entire arm across the mousepad.

I aim with my wrist, so I didn't like it and just turned acceleration back on.

Obviously not pro level, but again it's just personal preference.

You're making false equivalency. Just because there are people that exist that play CSGO well with mouse acceleration does not mean having it off or on is equally as good. For the vast majority of people you will be more consistent with mouse acceleration off. It only makes sense that having to consider how fast you move your mouse as an extra variable with reduce consistency.

I would always recommend to someone trying to get better at fps to turn it off and I do not think they are equally as good.

There honestly is not much of a difference if you practice enough.

Obviously if you're trying to go pro then you want to try both to see what works better for you, but for any regular gamer it will not matter.
