Hey, guys. I am new here, so notify me if this is the wrong category. Anyway, here is my question:

Are these specs good for gaming and 3d work (blender)?

My current laptop specs (bought in 2011):

Intel i3 M380 @2.53GHz

No GPU

RAM: 3GB

So almost any of the config will be a step ahead in terms of gaming and more importantly 3D work. Here is the stuff I chose:

HDD = WD Blue Desktop 1TB Internal Hard Drive WD10EZEX) = 3,609
RAM = HyperX FURY Black 8 GB 2133 MHz CL14 DIMM DDR4 Internal Memory (HX421C14FB2/8) = X2 = 4,844
PSU = Corsair VS Series VS550 - 550 Watt SMPS = 3,799
Motherboard = Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2 LGA 1151 7th Gen F20 Updated BIOS Motherboard = 4,640
Processor = Intel Core i5 7500 - LGA1151 - 7th Generation Desktop Processor (LGA1151, 6MB, 3.4Ghz Upto 3.80Ghz) = 16,700
GPU = ZOTAC NVIDIA GT 730 2GB 2 GB DDR5 Graphics Card = 4,984
Cabinet = Circle Gaming Cabinet CC 815 without SMPS = 2,200
Monitor = Dell E1916HV 18.5-inch LED Monitor (Black) = 5,199

Total = ~46K INR = ~$700

I have absolutely no knowledge about what else I am missing and if this config is good or bad considering what I want. If these components are compatible with each other not.

What I want:

Gaming: I want to play games (Planet coaster, GTA V, Outlast 2, Battlefield, Witcher 3, and recent released games) at 720p or 1080p @30(average) FPS with medium to high settings. I am not interested in running games at 60fps with ultra settings or in 2k or 4k resolution. I don't care about LED lights or much about aesthetics.

3D work: Too hard to describe, but I want fast rendering than my current laptop. I know 3D work requires at least 16GB RAM and more VRAM, but I am really tight on budget :(

Please tell me any other good config around that budget. Less or equal will be better. Or if this Config is good to go.

I can always upgrade a part in future, right?

Thanks in advance.

that gpu will not cut it in terms of gaming. any chance you can squeeze at least a 1050 in there?

Both are under $150 if the conversion rate is correct.

EVGA B isn't great either.

You don't want a $40 PSU to blow up your whole system due to lack of protection features.

It's cheap because it's not very good. Cheap PSUs are generally not very good. The Corsair VS is no exception.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Here's the trick: don't use pcpp in india. They only list Amazon.in which is often times overpriced and also often pcpp misreports a price (I've seen it as bad as 4000 INR for 16GB RAM but you click the pcpp link and it costs 7500). Use these trusted retailers:

mdcomputers.in

primeabgb.com

theitdepot.com

And make a list in the old-style, with links and heaven forbid, adding up the costs by yourself :P

I'll do one too, in a sec

For a GTX 1050 it's fine.

Perhaps you can suggest a good one? I am too confused with this PSU thing :D

A Corsair CX450M is pretty cheap and should do the job. A Seasonic S12 would be much the same.

But on the Tier list it says that tier 3 and 4 PSUs should not be used for heavy purpose. Can you please enlighten me in this regard?

I don't believe my tier list says that..? Regardless, a 1050 doesn't even have external power connections so you're fine with something like a CX430M.
