Your CPU shouldn't bottleneck a 580 8gb

Your CPU and RAM may bottleneck a bit but that's okay. Get RX 480/580 8GB

Though IMO, you should upgrade CPU first as CPU can last longer than GPU

580 is probably the way to go, since it's just as good performance wise as the 1060, and it's got more VRAM. The extra VRAM will be especially helpful now that games are getting better textures and such.

Upgrading his CPU wouldn't improve his frame times at all, plus he has a decent upgrade path to the 3770k

It will just not massive

The 580 has Vram advantage over GTX 1060 which is only has 6Gb.

More Vram generally better cause if u got more Vram u can fill those with more data.

Like Texture quality, shadow, anti aliasing, etc meaning u can enable some graphical settings like i mentioned to the high/ultra. (careful with AA though)

Now there is more into it but thats it for now if u got anymore question just make another thread.

I ran a 980 on a 2400 and 3770k frame difference was >8%

Yes u can run whatever u want but i said it will just not massive although depends on the game.

He might a bit struggle on cpu intensive games.

Reread your comment and my comment

im very aware you can run whatever you want, I'm explaining to you that the difference in a CPU worse than his to the top CPU of his socket had negligible difference with an arguably better gpu

This is pointless

There's no bottleneck

he isn't going to struggle in any games

Thanks guys for your opinions...

The thing is my current gpu is broken... It hangs after windows logo pops up and the screen turns green.. Only can open in safe mode...

I currently only have cash for a new gpu.. Based on your suggestions, I may opted for Rx 580 8gb... Worth a lot for longer run...

if i have Extra cash in the future, should i upgrade the cpu or ram to 16gb.. Which is better for better gaming???

Battlefield 1 might do, i've seen i5's bottleneck cards in that. Not sure it would for a 580 though.

Upgrade the CPU, unless your games are hitting a RAM limit, though 8GB should be fine for most things. 16GB is nice to have for multitasking and more headroom, but a better CPU will help your gaming performance more than extra RAM.
