Use mpc-hc + madvr for best image quality an what not.

I installed a codec for windows media player to play MKV files but only some files run and others are just black. Any solution? Or alternatives? I don't like VLC and Gom Player is too buggy.

 

I want a simple interface like windows media player

Really? Whats wrong with VLC player? It's great!

VLC has great features, but I don't like the interface. I want something really simple like windows media player or quicktime.

Try media player classic home cinema + shark007 codecs :D

Dont use codec packs they just repackage other peoples codecs and throw their name on them.
