1. Budget & Location

Budget: I would like to keep the total PC part picker cost under $2500, but I am willing to fudge it a bit, I currently am putting $500 towards this every paycheck (which is every 2 weeks) And I plan on working all the way to the end of summer, but I would prefer not to spend all the money I make on my computer.

Location: Maryland, US. So USD prices.

2. Aim

I plan on using this for Gaming, with high framerates in competitive games and in high detail for more detailed games. Also would like to open up the possiblity of doing VR in the future. Thinking about streaming, or at least recording my gameplay sometimes. Also may consider video/picture editing in the future, but that is a lower priority that may be an entire different computer build in the future.

3. Monitors

Definitely going to get a 1920x1080 high refresh rate monitor 120-144hz or more at some point soon, might not be included in cost of PC may be included in cost of PC. But I would eventually like to have a 2 or 3 monitor setup. if it ended up being 3 monitors I would probably have a portrait 1920x1080 60hz monitor and a 4K 60hz monitor that I would like to be somewat color acurate (but that would be very far down the line)

4. Peripherals

First off, I will need to buy windows, and I am not sure if I want OEM or Retail. Please pro con each one of these for me if you can. I do not want to use Kinguin. (Was brought up in a theoretical build post I made before I had a job.)

I have peripherals that are pretty good, but could be better. I might replace them in the future, but I will not be buying any with this build.

This is a forum post about my keyboard:

My mouse is a Razer Overwatch Edition Deathadder Chroma (I may have an OW problem) (I might swap out this mouse soon)

I have a QCK + mousepad

5. Why are you upgrading?

I am tired of dealing with mediocre/barely playable frame rates, and would like to never have to deal with that for a while. also, would like find out what a good computer is actually like.

Ok, now that that stuff is done here is what a actually have to say for myself:

I have already have a case and power supply:

Case:

https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Enthoo-Evolv-Computer-Case/dp/B01F0KWL6A/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_tr_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EGQTCH442RMBZ8WZ3MB0

PSU:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438018

and I have a PC part picker started on what I think I want to do:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MnKyTH

I am having trouble deciding if I want to do an all in one water cooler for the CPU or if I want to get an air cooler. I would like to try overclocking at some point.

I would also like to have a NVME drive for my OS, and some of my more frequent games. alongside a hard drive or SATA SSD for other things.

I have no Idea what I want to do for RAM, but I know minimum will be 16 GB total but I would like 32 eventually. I would also like it to match the overall theme of my build. (I want it to be black.)

Thank you in Advance,

~Adam

PS I impulse bought my case after watching this video:

PPS:
Should I mount my PSU so that it draws air from inside the case or through the filter in the bottom of the case?

EDIT:

Plan on doing Cablemod cords later on.

EDIT 2:

Also, build looks very good. I'd go with some fast RAM like 3000-3200MHz. If you want NVMe, I'd recommend a 960 EVO. I'd recommend lowering to a 650W P2, instead of 850W.

Edit: Have you looked at any ultrawide 1440's?

I have thought about ultrawide 1440's but I heard it could mess with recording, Still debating internally though. I honestly haven't looked into monitors at all. (At least beyond what I hear in LTT videos.)

As to the 850W I knew it was overkill when I bought it, but I had planned even less than I have now when I did, and I may upgrade to SLI when some of the currently new hardware gets more outdated.

Edit: Also thank you for the Advice on the NVME drive. I will look into it.

Edit 2: I am pretty new to the forum/forums in general, and I honestly don't know what I am doing.
