So I am running a pretty high end system (No I did not buy this system for gaming but hey it's fun) I am running a 5960x that is overclocked to 4.5ghz and a 1070 overclocked to 2050 mhz, and 32 gb of ram. but in GTA V I get an average of only ~40 fps!!! I have tried resetting my graphics settings to default and even turning them all the way down to low. I just don't understand. anybody else get something like this? I know that with 8 cores that was going to actually limit my gaming performance rather than faster fewer cores, but I have it at 4.5ghz which is faster than most peoples 6700 or 7700k's and I know that doesn't make it better but still, I didn't expect this much of a dip in performance.

nah a 5960x is haswell so at 4.5ghz it should be well over 60fps in GTA V, especially with a 1070 alongside it. DDU and reinstall drivers

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.
