I know mixing different sized and/or branded kits are a no no for obvious reasons.  However, what about timings?

I have the current kit installed in my system.

https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c16q-32gtz

It has the following specs:

Capacity 32GB (8GBx4)

Multi-Channel KitDual Channel Kit

Tested Speed3200MHz

Tested Latency16-16-16-36-2N

Tested Voltage 1.35v

I also have two of the following kits.

https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c16d-16gtzb

Capacity16 GB (8GBx2)

Multi-Channel KitDual Channel Kit

Tested Speed3200MHz

Tested Latency16-18-18-38-2N

Tested Voltage 1.35v

Obviously the timings on the second one is slightly slower.  However will this cause much of a problem running them together on a Rampage V Edition 10 with a 6850K?

Perhaps if I manually set the timings?

the motherboard will adjust the ram speeds timings and CAS latency to the slowest stick in the motherboard so you should be good.

Been playing around with this pretty much since I posted.   I actually have the timings running 15-15-15-34 across the board!

However I had to back off from 3000mhz to 2800mhz to get it to boot.  I have never been able to run the kit I had installed at 3200.   Of course None of this ram is actually validated for the x99 platform.  A mistake I made when I purchased it.  If Ram prices wren't so high I would replace them.  but priceds have gone up something like 60% since I bought this stuff.
